Childhood Cancer
The types of cancers that occur in children vary greatly from
those seen in adults. Leukemias, brain and other nervous system
tumors, lymphomas, bone cancers, soft tissue sarcomas, kidney
cancers, eye cancers and adrenal gland cancers are the most common
cancers of children. About 9,200 children under 15 years of age
in the United States were diagnosed with cancer in 2004.
Clinical hypnosis has been successfully used in controlling symptoms of
the disease, including:
pain
fatigue
malaise
irritability
insomnia
as well as side effects of treatment, such as
nausea and vomiting from chemotherapy***
food aversions
