About Dr. LazarusDr. Lazarus' curriculum vitae. Jeffrey E. Lazarus, MD, is a Menlo Park, board certified pediatrician
who combines more than 25 years of general pediatrics experience with
the use of clinical hypnosis and biofeedback. After completing his
pediatric residency at Stanford University Medical Center, Dr. Lazarus
practiced general pediatrics in Cleveland, where he was also an Associate
Clinical Professor at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. In 2000, Dr. Lazarus began obtaining special training in clinical hypnosis to address issues not effectively treated by traditional medicine. Soon after, Lazarus migrated his practice from general pediatrics to treating specialized pediatric issues (link to issues treated page) with clinical hypnosis and biofeedback. DR. LAZARUS is now both a nationally and internationally recognized speaker on clinical hypnosis. As one of only 13 pediatricians in the United States to be certified as an approved consultant by The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, Dr. Lazarus has spoken throughout the United States and internationally. (Dr. Lazarus' Lectures) BackgroundDr. Lazarus became interested in clinical hypnosis as a patient himself. After trying traditional therapies for plantar warts without success, Dr. Lazarus recalled that one of his five-year-old patients had rid himself of hundreds of warts with biofeedback/self-hypnosis. Dr. Lazarus made contact with Karen Olness, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and co-author of the premier book in the field of pediatric hypnotherapy, Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy with Children. Dr. Olness taught Dr. Lazarus the technique of self-hypnosis, and within three weeks, his own warts disappeared- never to return. Dr. Lazarus has studied intensively under some of the most renowned experts in the field of clinical hypnosis. He has applied the techniques he has learned to help hundreds of children overcome difficulties. He uses clinical hypnosis to treat a variety of conditions. Dr. Lazarus enjoys guiding children and parents toward becoming confident and self-reliant with regard to health. Families appreciate his thoroughness, compassion, and warm sense of humor.
